Supermoon september 28 2015

Supermoon september 28 2015

Supermoon september 28 2015

There are many superlatives to describe the Supermoon September 28 2015 . It’s the biggest, closest and brightest supermoon of the year. In the Northern Hemisphere, this full moon enjoys the title of Harvest Moon. Last but hardly least, this supermoon will feature a total eclipse of the moon, visible on the night of September 27-28 from the Americas, the Atlantic, Greenland, Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

This post focuses on closest supermoon aspect of this fascinating, upcoming full moon. For eclipse info, look here.

The moon will reach the crest of its full phase on September 28, 2015 at 2:51 UTC. At North American’ time zones, the moon will turn full on September 27 at 11:51 p.m. ADT, 10:51 p.m. EDT, 9:51 p.m. CDT, 8:51 p.m. MDT, 7:51 p.m. PDT.

It’ll reach perigee – the moon’s closest point to Earth for this month – within an hour of that time. Thus it’s the closest full moon of the year, and appears largest (to extremely careful observers) and brightest in our sky. This happens to be the moon’s closest encounter with Earth for all of 2015, period. The moon won’t be so close to Earth again until the full moon of November 14, 2016.

We astronomers call this sort of close full moon a perigee full moon. The word perigeedescribes the moon’s closest point to Earth for any given month. Four years ago, when the closest and largest full moon fell on March 19, 2011, many used the term supermoon, which we’d never heard before. In the following years, we heard this term again to describe the year’s closest full moon on May 6, 2012, and again on June 23, 2013 and yet again on August 10, 2014.

Now the term supermoon is being used a lot. Last month’s full moon – on August 29, 2015 – was also a supermoon. But the September full moon is even more super! In other words, the time of full moon falls even closer to the time of the moon’s closest point to Earth.

What does supermoon mean exactly? And how special is the September 27-28, 2015 supermoon? Follow the links below to find out.

Photography Corsica

Photography Corsica

Corsica offers a multitude of amazing places to explore.

Beautiful forests, cristalline waters, mountains and much more.

I had chance to explore most of it during a recent working trip, following the route from Bonifacio to Ajaccio then Corte and Bastia.

I also ended up in small fisherman villages on Cape Corse, where time seems to have stopped long ago.

Went out early morning to visit Ile de Sanguinaires close to Ajaccio. I was delighted by this incredible island and its landscapes.

Viability is also very good and well supported by road signs.

it’s a pleasure to go around and finding unique spots everywhere. Locals are also very welcoming and helpful.

The atmosphere in Corte jumped me back some 200 years, the old city is something really worth it to be seen.

I offer photography Corsica available for commercial and promotional usages. If you dont find what you are looking for, please

feel free to drop me an email and I will scan my archive.

thank you

Country wedding Sardinia

Country wedding Sardinia.

A couple from flew from Germany to Olbia, where they planned to get married. Keyword for this event was “simplicity” and the finishing we agreed to give to the photographs was “country”.

As for location where to ambient the long overdue couple session, I choose the castle of Pedres just few km off Olbia.

The castle is surrounded by an amazing forest of olivastro trees, providing a unique place suitable for a country wedding shooting style.

Sardinia offers incredible and varied spots, ranging from emerald waters, mountains, hillside, canyon…

I’m always in constant scouting for new spots where to ambient couple photo sessions. Of course much depends on the will of the people to venture to places sometimes off hands,

though this will always be rewarded with original photography that will remind you of unforgettable time had in Sardinia.

I worl side by side with professionals in their fields, willing to deliver the best services possible and providing you with al the support needed for your own peace of mind.

Feeel free to contact me for your enquiries and don’t forget to have a look at my dedicated wedding website ( for further images along with the

Escursion Sardinia

Escursion Sardinia

Last sunday I ventured to a place I already visited a couple of years back. That time, light conditions weren’t that great, so I promised myself to make it back.

The waterfall of Rio Pitrisconi are not as much known as they should. The place is reachable after a 20 minutes drive, the road isn’t that good though you could make it easily with a jeep.

Once you get to the Forestale house, waterfalls are just 10 minutes walk away.

Though in the middle of winter and supposedly rain season, water wasn’t much. The place is spectacular anyways, you are just in the middle of a beautiful typical Sardinia valley with junipers trees that bend to the wind assuming incredible shapes.

Certainly a place worthy to be seen.

ciclone cleopatria Olbia Daniele Fontana

Ciclone Cleopatra

Ciclone Cleopatra
